I think these LA trips started in 2012 during our first year of college. There has been a total of 3 so far and we are slowly yet surely conquering LA. This trips agenda included Afters Ice Cream, O'Melveny Park Hike, Egg Slut, Bradbury Building, The Last Bookstore, Pie Hole, and Umami Burger.
First Stop: Afters Ice Cream
There was a line out the door but let me tell you that line was worth it!!! They have such unique flavors such as milk and cereal, cookie monster, jasmine milk tea, etc. Then you can choose to put your flavor into a donut like ice cream sandwich called milky buns. I got the jasmine milk tea in a milky bun and it was heaven on earth. Right after we got out the line was twice as long and it was already like 9:30pm. I've heard this place get's super busy so be prepared to wait if you ever go. But 10/10 would go again! Right now if I had the choice...
Address: 18030 Brookhurst St. Fountain Valley, CA 92708 but there's also one in Chino Hills
Third Stop: Grand Central Market & Egg Slut
As my middle school students would say "this place is so tumblr." Not sure what the true definition is of that but I'm assuming it means hip and worthy of tons of reblogs. This place is located in in the Grand Central Market in Downtown LA. The Grand Central Market is such an awesome place! It features tons of restaurants, markets, and shops reflecting and celebrating the changing population of downtown LA. It's such an awesome place and you can feel the history and evolution that downtown LA continuously experiences. This place is all about food and community and there is such a great vibe present. Just like afters ice cream, egg slut had an enormous line! Pretty much you order, find a seat, and indulge in greasy goodness. Lucky for us we found a seat at the countertop so we were able to see the yummy creations in action. I got the fairfax and added bacon which is just soft scrambled eggs and chives, cheddar cheese, caramelized onions and sriracha mayo in a warm brioche bun. It was delicious! It's also a really photogenic looking meal and definitely a place you need to try at least once!

Fourth Stop: Bradbury Building
If you enjoy the movie 500 days of Summer then visiting this place is a must! It is such a beautiful building and now every time you watch 500 days of summer you have bragging rights because you've been there. There is a greeter/security so I did feel a little uncomfortable walking in here but yolo right? There's not much you can explore at this place except for the main lobby because you are not allowed past the first landing but it's such a breathtaking place to look at. It's also a national historic architectural landmark in LA and one of the city's oldest.
Fifth Stop: The Last Bookstore
I am a fan of bookstores and can spend hours in them. I always feel like they just transport me into a whole different world. The Last Bookstore literally takes me into a different world. There are so many cool features and places within this bookstore. The bookstore name is ironic because it now begins to make sense as physical bookstores are beginning to die out but that wasn't always intended. The Last Bookstore in now one of the largest independent bookstores in the world still standing and sells not only new books but they buy, sell, and trade as well. Even if you don't like books visiting this place will have you in awe. Truly a beautiful place full of adventure! There's lots to explore in this bookstore without picking up a single book.
Address: 453 S Spring St – Ground Floor Los Angeles, CA 90013
Sixth Stop: The Pie Hole
I was honestly a little skeptical upon coming here. I doubted how awesome pie could really be but I was shown that pie can be amazing! I decided to try the earl grey pie and it was sooooo delicious! It is also a very cute and hip place to hang out with friends or do homework. I would definitely come back and order more than one slice when I do.
Address: 714 Traction Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90013
The Last Stop: Umami Burger Irvine
On the way home we decided to stop by the Irvine Spectrum. Lucky for us they had just opened up an umami burger! So we decided to check it out. I have been to umami burger before and looooved it so I was excited to find out that Irvine Spectrum had now opened one. This location is huge! And just as the other umami burger I have been to the food is superb! I got just the basic umami burger with some thin cut friends and their amazing umami house ketchup. I honestly must say that the ketchup is probably my favorite part. I don't know what it is about their ketchup but it is incredible and makes the meal so much more amazing. It was definitely a great way to end our trip.
